Yeah, buildings usually double in cost. Note that the Terraformer "costs" energy as well, this is only needed while building. -- Jeffoh (talk) 10:05, 8 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Hi, I'm a bit confused about the energy part. Is the 1000 energy just a requirement like a technology level requirement? Or is it like a resource requirement? Meaning: does the energy get wasted? Or does it stay afterwards? Thanks in advance.

The 1000 energy part means that while you are builing the terraformer, you must have 1000 energy that is not in use by your mines. This can easily be achieved by lowering the output of your mines until your extra energy is at least 1000. Once the terraformer is built, the 1000 extra energy is no longer needed by the terraformer, and you can return your mine outputs to what they were before.

The energy is only need to start the build, once its in progress, the energy can be redirected back to mines.

OkaY; i'M IN uNi 30 and I just checked...apparently either this is a glitch or you do need constant energy to maintain the extra fields; note yhis might change when the server isupdated later on the day -SWF

Is there a limit to how many fields you can have on your plannet by building a terraformer (ie, does the size of the plannet influence it at all, like on a moon)?

i just built a terraformer, and i had 4k energy, but i only had 300 energy unused, making one think that you just need X energy in your whole energy pool to build it

How long this take to construct?

Yes, you can only use 4 fields after the 1 the Terraformer takes up, but it is inaccurate to not say that each level gives an additional 5 fields.

Notice the column header is "Extra Fields", this is the number of new free fields. It is very confusing to lead people to believe that they get 5 fields when they really only get 4 more. Br4indead 20:06, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
