Position

Position is the planet's distance relative to the sun, from one to fifteen. In general, positions one to three and twelve to fifteen have the smallest number of fields. Position is occasionally abbreviated as pos, and also known as slot or "planet slot".
The closer the planet is to the sun (ie lower numerical value), the more energy solar satellites will generate at that planet.
Also, the further away from the sun the more deuterium is produced per level of mine.
As a general rule, hotter planets produce more energy by solar satellites and less deuterium, and colder planets produce less energy by solar satellites and more deuterium

OGame sorts the planets into various different categories, depending on their position. These are as follows:
- Slots 1-3 are called Dry Planets
- Slots 4-6 are called Jungle Planets
- Slots 7-9 are called Normal Temperature Planets
- Slots 10-12 are called Water Planets
- Slots 13-15 are called Ice Planets
