Recent Updates to the OGame Universes (view/edit)

On 11 Nov 2009 Universe Electra comes online

On 08 Oct 2009 the Draco Universe comes online, according to an announcement on the Official OGame Board.

On 30 Sep 2009 Universe 43 received the Redesigned Universes' new design and tutorial.

On 21 Sep 2009 the Redesigned Universes were patched from version 1.0 to 1.1. Patch notes are listed on the Official OGame Board. Changes include:

  • Tutorial
    • progress of single steps shown
    • automatic forwarding if one step is finished
    • opens at first after registration
  • Bugs
    • rounding error in combat reports fixed
    • several JavaScript errors fixed
    • small error in IE 8 fixed
  • Other stuff
    • several small display improvements
    • display of storage capacity for missile silo optimized
    • display of found results in Search overview optimized
    • possible to sort plantes by size & points
    • localisation problems in empire view fixed
    • long planet names in empire view and fleet movement shortened
    • now possible to send a colony ship in galaxy view from your moon
    • new tooltips in options and building overview
    • visible hint if building improvement is accepted
    • security check / hints if you change your password

On 17 Sep 2009 Board Administrator Cassandra Vandales announced that all Classic Universes will receive the Redesigned Universes' new design and tutorial, though all gameplay mechanics will remain unchanged, for now.

On 24 Aug 2009 the Capella universe (AKA Universe 46) went online. It is the third 1.0 universe and has the new design fully implemented.

On 04 Aug 2009 the Andromeda universe (AKA Universe 44) went online. It is the first 1.0 universe and has the new design fully implemented. A day later Barym went online as a 1.0 universe too.

In March 2009 version 0.84 released and implemented into all universes. Changes include:

  • Problem with special characters has been fixed
  • Miscellaneous security gaps have been closed (XSS)
  • Error in the building list sometimes blocked vacation mode
  • Small security gaps in alliance system closed
  • The error in alliance system that caused the loss of the rights of all existent ranks has been fixed
  • Symbol problem in the RSS-Feed has been fixed
  • BBCode [url] work again
  • Line break in notes works again

On or around 09/15/2008 version 0.83 released and implemented into all universes. Changes include:

  • Exploit which lead to resources, which has not been produced, removed
  • Exploit with which you where able to unban yourself after a GO ban has been removed

On 07/31/2008 version 0.81 released and implemented into all universes. Changes include:

  • Repaired research statistics
  • Rapid fire is taken into account at expedition combat reports
  • Alliance applications of deleted users are deleted
  • Expedition messages are sorted correctly
  • Corrected the forced vacation mode for not validated users
  • Alliance names could have up to 30 characters
  • Fixed some rare errors at research assignments

On 05/14/2008 version 0.80 was released and implemented into all universes. Changes include:

  • Improvement of the building queue.
  • Improvement of the battle script.
  • Several bugfixes.
  • Improved linking of coordinates and player names.

On 01/17/2008 version 0.78c was released and implemented into all universes. Changes included:

  • Live point updates.
  • Detailed technology trees.
  • Attack links on espionage reports.
  • Max message length increased to 2000 characters.
  • IPM range increased.

On 12/20/2007 version 0.78a was released and implemented into at least OGame universes 2, 9, 19, 30, and 31. Changes included:

  • Totals of resources produced per day and per week on the resources tab.
  • Slight changes in calculations of energy produced in Fusion Reactors.
  • Moons attackable by Interplanetary Missiles.
  • Sensor Phalanxes no longer show returning fleets of other players.

On 11/27/2007 version 0.78 was released and implemented into all universes. The changes consisted of bugfixes as well as Merchants and Expeditions.

On 2/16/2007 version 0.76 was released and implemented into all OGame universes. The changes included:

Adding an Officer's Casino, which gives you the option to hire advisors. Each advisor costs the same as a Commander subscription.

The available advisors are:

  • Fleet Admiral: Gives You +2 to your Fleet Slots
  • Engineer: Reduces the losses of the defense by 1/2 and + 10% to energy.
  • Geologist: +10% to mine production.
  • Technocrat: +2 to espionage level for probes and 25% less research time.

Many people have been outspoken about their displeasure with the Officers. Even a petition online has been made with the intention to send to Gameforge.

On 1/30/2007, version 0.75 was released and implemented into all OGame universes. The changes included:

  • New Ship: The Battlecruiser
  • Rapidfire changes
    • Heavy fighter against Small cargo ship: 3
    • Cruiser against Light Fighter: 6
    • Battlecruiser against Battleship: 7
    • Battlecruiser against Heavy Fighter: 4
    • Battlecruiser against Cruiser: 4
    • Destroyer against Battlecruiser: 2
    • Death Star against Battlecruiser: 15
  • Battle Ship will cost only 45,000 Metal and 15,000 Crystal
  • Editable moon names
